We spent the morning sightseeing around Trier (Germany's oldest city), doing some shopping ( Lyn) and grabbing lunch before we headed off to Nurburg (an hour from Trier).
Some of the other vehicles waiting to go out on the track.
Our ride was scheduled for 3.30, but due to a motorbike crash, was delayed until just after 4. Luckily for us the ring taxi was allowed onto the circuit before everyone else as he has radio contact with the track marshals.
By the time we got in the M5 ( fourth lap) it was nicely warmed up and with no other traffic the driver could push it very hard. I think Matthew spent most of the time looking at the speedo, 250 on the straight, and Lyn was very quiet. There are probably still fingermarks on her seat.
It is an excellent track, so many corners and changes in altitude, it's easy to see why they call it the green hell. One of the best rides I've had, I'll be back again.
On the way home Lyn decided she would like to drive, first time in L/H drive car. After a few issues, wipers instead of indicators, 4th instead of 2nd gear she got the hang of it. After being told we were almost at the Autobahn she bailed, wasn't too keen on driving on the unlimited section. Tomorrow we're off to Lyon.
