Spanish Steps

Thursday afternoon, after studying the bus routes, we caught the bus to the Spanish steps. Even though there were so many people, the steps and the church behind it were pretty impressive.

At the bottom of the street was a sculpture of a leaky boat, made by Bernini's father in 1629.

We climbed all the steps and had a look around the top. I was hoping it went up to coffee and cake, but no such luck, just the church and people drawing caricatures.

So we went back down and walked along the street to the Piazza Popolo.

After looking at the piazza, we wandered back down the street to catch the bus, (very
squished, it was like playing sardines), and ended up back home and getting changed to go out for dinner to celebrate Matt's birthday on Friday.
