Boppard and Stuttgart

Thursday morning we walked to the chair lift (posting our postcards on the way), and enjoyed a great ride up to the top of a huge hill overlooking the Rhine River. Fantastic view, and they had a restaurant up the top (coffee and cake). Delicious, and very relaxing.

Friday, we packed up, got back into the car and drove down to Stuttgart, (time for another boy´s day), home of the Porsche and Mercedes mueums. We stayed at Boblingen (about 1/2 hours drive from Stuttgart), where breakfast was included in the room rate (buffet breakfast with bacon, scrambled eggs, croissants, cold meats, cheeses and sweet breads. We´ve been having so much breakfast, we haven´t needed lunch). And Saturday was spent at the motor museums. (3 hours at Porsche and 5 hours at Mercedes).

They were both fantastic museums, and very interesting. (Mercedes actually had a timeline of world events over the past 200 years); but 8 hours of cars was just too much for me. I did 2 hours at Porsche and 3 at Mercedes. When I´d finished the exhibits at Mercedes, I went back up to find Cam and Matt. They were four floors back! and Matthew´s statement when I said I was finished, "how did you get through that fast!!!" I spent the next 2 hours sitting in the restaurant, catching up on Facebook and downloading Lonely Planet guides from the library.

Sunday, after another lovely breakfast, we left for our drive down to Fussen. More castles...
