Rouen

We left our apartment in Paris and caught a taxi to pick up our new motor home, home for the next fortnight. We drove to Rouen, north of Paris, and parked on the bank of the Seine. Rouen is an old city, that like the rest of the Normandy region, has suffered from damage during WW2.

We walked into the city, visiting the Notre Dame church and tourist bureau before doing some shopping.

We decided to stay another night here and spent Tuesday wandering the city again, looking at the Palais de Justice (where Joan of Arc was tried) and visiting the Gros Horlage (an astrological clock which has two faces and one hand on each face. There is an attached museum, where you can walk up and find out all about the history of the clock and how it works).

After lunch, we split up, and for the first time all holidays, I got to shop for an hour alone!!!
