Mont St Michel

We left Etretat and drove across the Le Havre bridge, through the mist, (an awesome sight on the toll road, well worth 6 euros).

We went to Camembert (where they make Camembert cheese), and visited the museum, river with sluice gate for the mill, and a water powered flour mill and then drove out to one of the farms where they make the cheese, observing the stages of the process;

And then headed across to Mont St Michel, a monastery built in the 8th century on a small rocky island. It was incredible. We took a guided tour (where the guide spoke English) through the rooms, and then walked around the walls of the monastery after lunch. The view was amazing. (Just for those who are counting, 300 steps to get up to the room where we started the tour, after that, I have no idea, too many!!!)
